Old 4th Ward – Lofts

Barking Hound Village Old 4th Ward is a social dog boarding and dog daycare environment, and safety is our top priority, so your dog must be comfortable with other dogs and people. They will be continually evaluated as a fit for BHV Dog Daycare and BHV Dog Boarding. Only spayed and neutered dogs are accepted, with the exception of puppies less than 8 months old. Your dog must have updated Rabies, Bordetella, and DHLPP vaccinations.

At least 4 months old. We want to ensure that all dogs have enough time to develop their immune system before socializing with other dogs.

For dog boarding and daycare, your dog needs to be current on the following vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella (the vaccine for canine cough). If the Bordetella vaccine has never been given, or if it has expired, we strongly recommend a seven-day waiting period after administration, as this may provide your dog with extra protection. We also request that all dogs be on some type of flea preventative. As of April 1, 2023, we strongly recommend all dogs receive the H3N2 (Canine Flu) vaccine.

We’re open seven days a week for dog boarding and dog daycare. Hours are posted on each store’s webpage, and you can pick up or drop off anytime during these hours.

Yes, we have webcams in all BHV Old 4th Ward’s dog boarding and dog daycare rooms.

Yes, Barking Hound Village Old 4th Ward is one of our five locations that have outdoor areas for the dogs to run, play and socialize! While our Buckhead and Sandy Springs dog daycare & boarding locations have climate controlled, indoor play yards for your dogs to stay cool while they’re having fun!

We ask that you bring your own food and medication. Please bring enough food to last the entire stay. We also ask that you put each of the dog’s meals in a separate zip lock bag (it makes the feeding a lot easier). We offer House Food for purchase at $5 per dog per day.

If your dog takes medication, please be sure to bring the medication and to inform the front desk how much and when we need to give it.

Don’t worry about bringing your dog’s bed – we got you covered! BHV Old 4th Ward provides all dogs with beds made of a ballistic, nylon material that makes them both water resistant and durable.

Yes, dogs from the same family can stay together in the same suite at BHV Old 4th Ward so long as the owner gives approval. Please be sure to let our staff know at check-in if we need to separate your dogs during feeding time. Also note that if your dogs are different sizes, they will be separated for their respective play groups, but will still be able to sleep together at night.

Our dog boarding prices function similar to hotels. While hotels typically have a 12pm checkout, BHV Old 4th Ward’s boarding check out (pick up) time is 2pm. If you pick up after 2pm, there will be an additional $21 daycare fee charged to the boarding stay since we have to continue to reserve their enclosure until pick-up.

Here’s an example:

• Drop off at 8 a.m. Thursday, pick up at noon Friday = 28 hours = 1 day of Boarding
• Drop off at 8 a.m. Thursday, pick up at 5 p.m. Friday = 33 hours = 1 day of Boarding plus Extended Boarding charge

First and foremost, we will always give the owner a call if an unfortunate event occurs. IF we can’t reach the owner, we will contact the Emergency Contact on file.

If we are unable to contact you or your emergency contact and we feel your dog needs medical attention, we will transport your pet to their regular veterinarian, if close by, to ensure continuity of care. If your veterinarian is not near our facility, we will take them to one of the local veterinarians closest to BHV Old 4th Ward’s facility. If we believe that the situation is urgent or if your dog needs care after regular hours, we will take your pet to the closest veterinary emergency clinic.
